With punchcard or membership you can experiment a bit with different classes as the classes may vary greatly from day to day and teacher to teacher.

These days, you can do yoga in various places - at the gym for instance. At Blå Himmel we are all about yoga, and our classes are usually small and always "hyggelige". This means that our yoga instructors can be more attentive to each person in the room and spend time assisting everyone to do yoga at their own individual level. .

About us

We are Copenhagen’s most ‘Hyggelig’ yoga studio, with yoga for both children and adults, our own cafe, and a warm, unpretentious environment. We are located in the heart of Østerbro and have small classes and highly trained yoga teachers. At Blå Himmel we prioritize personal instructions and an individual approach. We have a great atmosphere, peace and quiet – genuine quality yoga.

If u just visit Copenhagen and u are looking for a place to drop by for a great yoga-practice, BLAA HIMMEL YOGA / BLUE SKY YOGA in the area of Oesterbro is just the right spot!!!! If u live in Copenhagen u are lucky:) Teachings are in English and Danish, different styles of yoga and always some excellent workshops showing up. Very nice stuff in the cosy Café attached to the yoga studio 🤩❤️

Hatha yoga

Originally, this is the denotation of all yoga where you move. Here, we define Hatha as yoga where you hold the lying, sitting, and standing positions for an extended period, giving the teacher and student time to work through the physical and technical aspects of each position. It may vary how hard hatha is depending on the yoga instructor and can also vary from day to day.

Recommended for:

Hatha is suited for beginners and experienced practitioners alike, because yoga is also about continuously working to get a deeper, more thorough knowledge and mastery of the basic poses. In a hatha class, everyone can practice the different yoga poses on their own level.

Gentle hatha

Hatha with soft movements that gently loosens and strengthens the body. We go deep into the classic problem areas – shoulders, neck, and back – slowly working through most of the basic lying (supine and prone) and sitting poses.

Recommended for:

Gentle hatha is suited for people with injuries or stress, people who recently gave birth, people completely out of shape or people who simply want to relax and do yoga in a lower gear.

Hatha flow

Also known as Vinyasa flow. As the name implies, Hatha flow incorporates flow, i.e, yoga in constant movement with many sun salutations, etc. The warmth in the body created by the flow helps clean the body while keeping it flexible and strong, and the continuous guidance focuses the mind. With time you learn the movements and sequences, indeed, you learn yoga almost like a language. The floating movements and the repetitions are quite meditative, making you flow on a hot, happy wave.

Recommended for:

Hatha flow is for those who like a good warm-up as well as movement, exercise, and a bit of a challenge.

Aerial yoga

Aerial yoga is practiced in a costumized hammock hanging about 1 meter (3 feet) above the ground. The hammock is made of a non-elastic fabric that can hold a person weighing up to 200 kg (440 pounds). The yoga hammock is a groundbreaking tool that excels in three areas in particular:
1. It surrounds and supports you like a cocoon, giving an incredibly calming relaxation.
2. It is an ideal vehicle for inversions, also for those who are normally less inclined or able to do such healthy exercises.
3. In a number of positions it ensures a deep and effective core workout as you constantly have to keep your balance.

Recommended for:

Aerial is ideal for all curious yoga practitioners and can, e.g., provide an intense exercise without constantly putting weight on your arms.

Yin yoga

Yin yoga focuses more on being than doing, and is the most de-stressing form of yoga. It’s all about really feeling yourself and resting your nervous system through deep stretches and drawn-out floor poses. This will help you let go in body and mind, reduce stress and anxiety, and gain greater vitality.

Recommended for:

Anyone who wants to achieve inner peace and a deeper contact with themself.
Yin yoga can also be good for people who do a lot of heavy exercise due to the greater focus on stretching and relaxation.

Yoga for beginners

Even if you haven’t done yoga before, you can easily attend one of our other yoga classes. However, we also have a class specifically for beginners, which focuses on a new area in the body every week. After 4 weeks you’ll have been through all areas, but you are welcome to attend the beginner class as long as you wish.

Recommended for:

Beginners (obviously),  but also intermediate students who want to refresh their technique or have learned several different techniques and styles and would like a clear guideline.
